I was born at the Alaska Family Health & Birth Center in 1999. The birth center has always been a significant part of the birth story that my mother would tell me about every year on my birthday. I have lived all over Alaska, and I came back to Fairbanks for college in 2017, where I am still studying to get my bachelor's degree in Art. I have been married to my wonderful husband for over 2 years and we are expecting our first baby in February 2023. I am hoping to follow in my mother's footsteps and give birth at the AFH&BC. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, beading, jewelry making, reading, and snuggling my cats. It is such a blessing to be on the Via Vita board and give back to the place where my life began. I want the AFH&BC and FUS to continue to thrive, grow, and serve the Fairbanks community.
Connie Seekins
Board Member
Born in Alaska and has lived in Fairbanks since 1974. Faith and family guide my life. I am thankful to live life with my husband of 53 years. I enjoy spending time with my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. I enjoy being a volunteer in our community. It has been a blessing to be involved in childbirth education for many years. We like to ride horses and go hunting together. On many winter days, you can find me baking bread and quilting.
